Theses questions are to help you reflect on Matthew 5:1-5.

What does "good life" look like to you? Do you know anyone you would describe as experiencing "the good life?"

Can you live a good life and be a "bad person"? (Maybe need to think about who is a "bad person" in your eyes.) (How) Is our moral or ethical life connected to our satisfaction in life?

Jesus says that those who are lacking life energy, grieving, and unimportant are "well off" because they are in a position where they are able to experience the blessings of God more easily. Have you ever been in a hardship in life and through that circumstance felt closer to God, or forced to trust God more deeply than before? How does your comfort in life impact your relationship with God?

What might be keeping you from experiencing the goodness of God in your life right now?

How have you been tempted to judge others and their ability to experience God's blessing?
